Updates for Magento 2 extensions

Let us start with the Page speed 1.4.0 release. There's always more room left for improving your website performance. And we keep adding new options to your favorite Magento 2 speed extension to help you reduce your page speed load times.

In April our module was updated with the following features:

  • Automating image optimization via cron jobs.
  • Added comments about heavy server load for some module features.
  • Magento 2.3.5 CSP compatibility.
  • New config functionality to help you analyze page speed score directly from the backend.

One more cool improvement created in the last month is new Consent settings in Magento 2 GDPR module. We talk about Cookies consent available from GDPR 1.3.0 release.

Informing users and obtain their consent before setting cookies is an important part of the GDPR compliance strategy. Remember, you're supposed to follow General Data Protection Regulation requirements when running a business in the EU.

In a special post, you will know more about Cookie banner, separate Cookie Settings page and extended functionality possibilities included in the GDPR module.

And as a consequence, we added GDPR cookie consent integration to our Easy Banner 1.5.5.

Since 1.22.3 release our popular Firecheckout module makes your checkout page faster. We improved the initial page load time for stores that use a multistep checkout layout. Now the page with a large number of payment methods loads more quickly.

Both speed and usability matter when it comes to positive user experience. Thus, in the latest module release, you can also see fixed:

  • PaypalExpress checkout when using in-context mode. Previously Paypal buttons inside iframe didn’t work.
  • StripeIntegration_Payments integration: we added workaround for the StripeIntegration_Payments module since this payment doesn’t have a working validate method that could be called programmatically like any other payment method.

Regarding the checkout process, we'd like to remind you about the ReCaptcha feature protecting the checkout page. ReCaptcha works on the checkout within the ReCaptcha module functionality. In the 1.3.6 release, we fixed the issue that didn't allow uses to place the order when ReCaptcha is enabled on checkout and PayPal flow method is selected.

Navigation Pro 1.14.1 updates:

  • Fixed bug when dropdown wasn’t shown on mouse hover.
  • Decreased cache memory consumption.
  • 16 locales added to translate backend and frontend phrases: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, Hebrew, Italian, German, Japanese, Norwegian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Ukrainian

Cache warmer 1.0.2 updates:

  • Added limit URLs config option per a cron task
  • Added local chart.js library version
  • Added batch save in index generation
  • Stored cur page value in FPC cache (in getting source request entry collection)

The last release of the following modules includes some fixes and enhancements: Askit 1.7.1, Ajax Layered navigation 1.3.21, Ajax Pro 1.4.19. Please visit the modules pages to learn more.
