Following the idea to get the visitor through the user-friendly checkout process, we suggest integrating GeoIp functionality into your Magento 2 store. It allows detecting the user current location using his IP address.

The Geoip module for Magento 2 will get the visitor location using the MaxMind database. Basically, the extension will help you to:

  • look up geolocation information for a client
  • accurately detect visitor countries, cities, and province during checkout
  • speed up the whole checkout process and significantly improve customer experience.

Geoip extension works perfectly with default Magento 2 checkout. It is also a part of the Magento 2 FireCheckout extension.

GeoIP module is fully compatible with FireCheckout and the default Magento 2 checkout extensions. After the extension installation, your customers will see the already defined address fields on the checkout page. There will be fewer steps left to be filled in. That will simplify the checkout process.

Maximise lookup speed

Magento 2 GeoIp extension is based on MaxMind library geolocation. You can use our module as a way to determine country, region and city of your customers on the checkout page as well as when creating a new address in a user account. It fairly simplifies the process of filling address fields and enhance the user experience at all.
